I've noticed that in mandarin, theres two words for country and two for you. you- (你)nǐ, and (您)nín. What are their differences?
And another thing, theres a miss-(小姐)xiǎojiě, and mr-(先生)xiānsheng. Is there a Ms and Mrs? If so, whats the pinyin and characters for it?
Country- (国)guó, and (国家)guójiā. Why is there two for each? And how do I know when to use them? Thanks

I was wondering if the Mandarin Chinese word for rain - 'yu' - has ever been used as a female name in Chinese? Either as (ideally) a first name or family name. Thanks very much for your expertise.

I know that there is no verb conjugation and that the sentence structure is similar to english
(SVO) but what else is there to know?
When do you put in helping verbs?
How do you say "it?"(would it be ta?)
Where do you put in times of day?
Is it true that you add the "le" after the verb to make it past tense?
any helps is appreciated:D
Additional Details
Also to say "is/am" would you use
"shi" or "hen"

I hope someone can give me any helpful feedback on this. When I make retroflex sounds, i.e. initials ch, r, zh, my teeth tend to clank together (especially my canines). The sounds come out recognizable, however, I imagine this could do damage to my teeth in the long term. I imagine I am doing something wrong? Or perhaps it is common for teeth to clank together when making these sounds?
