I’m going to be a sophomore in high school next year. I’m almost fluent in German and my mother language is English. I’m thinking about French or Spanish, but I don't want to do Japanese, Latin or Chinese? Which would be more useful and which may be easier for me to learn.

Next year, when I start high school, I'm going to start taking Mandarin Chinese classes. However, I found out yesterday that I would most likely have Spanish classes for one of my classes in school for two semesters. It's quite obvious that they're as similar to each other as an ice cube is to a piece of hot iron, but I'm still a little worried that I'll get confused; people always told me never to try and learn two languages at once. How could I keep them separate?

I don't know which language I should take. im going into high school next school year (2010!) and I don't know if I should learn Chinese or French. I know that a lot more Chinese people are coming into the U.S. and that it’s becoming a more-talked language, but French sounds pretty and ive always wanted to learn it!!!!!! Also, Chinese sounds hard to learn. Please, can I have some advice?

To start, I adore languages. I am returning to school Next fall and want to pursue a degree in a Foreign Language. I need some advice on what to choose. I am between Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, and possibly Russian. I am currently leaning towards Arabic but I'm having trouble choosing in general.
My goals are to pursue the language through to a PH.D. and hopefully teach at a University. I would also greatly enjoy working with the government or other agencies and using the language I learned to help others.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know that the choice is going to be up to me in the end, but advice is always helpful in making a decision.

I love Cultures and I am fluent in Spanish and English.
I am a college Freshmen majoring in Public Relations
I recently became interested in Chinese but I've heard that its really not necessary because the Chinese already know English. I am wondering If I should even bother getting a minor in it. Is it worth it? Will I use it? Will it give me an edge over my competitors?

I have taken both languages in high school, but now, I can only pick one to take in college. So, in your personal opinion, which should I drop and which should I continue taking? Which would be more useful? People have told me that French is a dying language, but still, I'd like to hear more opinions on this. It would be great if you could explain your answer, but you don't have to...

It is good/nice to hear your voice.
What is your schedule for the week like? (or something that would lead them to tell me what they do during the week, ex- i have a class from x-x and i work from y-y and study from z-z...)
When would you be able to set aside 30 minutes to have just a friendly conversation.
Thanks.
