My boyfriend is Chinese and he talks in his sleep. He just said something which I think mean "what are you reading" because I think I have heard him use the same phrase to say the same thing before. I don't know exactly how to spell the Chinese words, but I think it spells either "ni kan qu ma" or "ni kan xue ma". How do I say the Chinese words for "what are you reading?" I just wanna be able to show off to him when he wakes up and tell him I understood: P

How do I ask a waiter "What do you reccommend?" or something along those lines of what they think is good.
Also, when addressing a server, is it more common to use "你" or "您"?

I would like to visit Xinjiang. The province is very beautiful. There are nice mountains to go to. I would go during the summer, when it's not cold. I'd take the bus around there. I'd also like to visit Yunnan. There is also mountains here. I would like to go on boats. I hear the people are very nice.

Hi. I'm working on a project. I know "ai ya" is the most popular one I've heard people use. What other Chinese words are used in Chinese that are similar? Please let me know the Chinese characters for them and please list as many as possible. Thank you.

So since I am Chinese and so are my parents, I want to take mandarin Chinese. I am 14 so this is embarrassing. But I do know 3 other languages, fuzhou dialect from birth, English from school and stuff, and Spanish for 2 years. Mandarin vocab is easy but what I can’t seem to get is recognizing the tones and remembering tones for words. This is the hardest part for me aside from the characters and some English words have more than 1 Chinese counterpart for definition. So how can I recognize tones and remember tones easier for words! xie4 xie ni2

I wish she didn't make an account. This is my private place and now I feel invaded. I don't want to delete but knowing that she has one makes me feel like I have to be on guard on what I write. About him.

I got the Berlitz Chinese learning program from my cousin just a couple of days ago, and was wondering if any one else has had any experience with this program and how long it took you to hold a decent conversation.
