This is a Chinese grammar related question as I am studying the Chinese. What does 就 mean in this context? 本报记者最近就生日礼物的问题作了一项调查。 校长就教学改革计划对学生们进行了解释。 So in these two sentences, what does 就 mean?

I mean how to pronounce it. And in Mandarin please n-n I want to celebrate this year the chinese new year and I know how to say shin nian cuai le but not to specify that it's the rabbit year. and I know about the fish, the red envelopes, the dragon dance and the happiness traditions but what else could i do to celebrate? how should I dress and should I do something special like a ritual or redecorate my room or pray or something? please you would help me a lot :B I just want to expand my cultural knowledge and practice new things

Hi! So I'm very interested in learning Mandarin Chinese. I think it's a beautiful language, and because it's so popular, it would be useful to learn it. My only problem is, I have a high-schoolers budget, which means that I can't afford something like the Rosetta Stone software. Do any of you know something similar, but at around £20? Thank you x

I know a few basic phrases in korean Hindi Arabic Russian indonesian japanese French Italian German and mandarin and I also speak pretty good Spanish. But I really want to learn mandarin, and I asked if I could help out at the local Chinese place for free Over the summer and the manager said ok. so how much do you think I will learn over the summer? I am translating a sentence from mandarn Chinese to American English and I am hoping one of you can help me. The part I am having trouble translating into English is the literal phrase of, "Zhang Mrs. Doctor." Please keep in mind that this is a form of addressing this woman. I would translate it as Dr. Zhang. Should I leave out the "Mrs." or include it somewhere? Thanks. :)
