I am interested in taking Mandarin lessons, but I do not know how to go about doing it? I am not in college so I can't study abroad. What's the best way for me to learn Chinese?

1. Whistling at night is not allowed because it is believed to be a curse in the family of the person performing that action.
2. Young girls are meant to be circumcised so that they can get married.
When an owl is found on top of the roof in someone’s house, it signifies that someone will die in that home.
3. People should not clean or sweep the house at night.
4. Pregnant women are not allowed to walk around the graveyard or else the unborn baby will die.

Hey,
I need to know how to write this in Pinyin for a Mandarin assignment.
- What year did you father come to Australia?
- What does your older brother do for a living?
If you could also include tone marks, it would be great.
Thanks.

One of my co-workers is a new dad and we wanted to print him a huge card to congratulate him and his wife on the occasion. He speaks Chinese (at least he speaks mandarin with our other Chinese co-workers) as well as English, and we wanted to spread our wishes as a group in both languages. We're doing our best to keep it a surprise, which is why I've come to the internet for help--can anyone give me a non-Google translate answer?

If you speak Chinese or are good at it, I'd appreciate the help. But if you don't speak Chinese, please don't use some online translator because they never seem to translate things right, and I've already used an online translator and it didn't make much sense ^^ Thank in advance~

Hi, I'm a little stuck. I'm trying to learn a little bit of Chinese and a friend of mine sometimes gives me sentences to try and translate, but for the life of me I can't make sense of this sentence. Could someone please help me? The sentence is 苍天啊!赐我一个费云帆吧! Thank you for your time :)

I am the only son of an only son. I need to tell my grandmother the following:
"Grandmother (奶奶), there is something I want to tell you. I am gay. I met a wonderful man, and we are getting married next summer. We make each other very happy. We hope to have children one day through surrogacy or adoption. I know Grandfather will want me to continue the Huang family line to the next generation. I will fulfill his wish."
Please use characters. I can figure out the pinyin.

Right now I am working on the different approaches to "hope" in Chinese culture. Hope plays a major part in daily Chinese thinking, so I would like to know more about the background. Are there any legends about hope? Any god or goddess of hope? Do you have any ideas or even links about this matter?

Summer is the best time for catching bugs. If you ever catch one, you have to promise to come show me!
I feel so silly. I accidentally bought two apples!
Not bad right? I've been studying Japanese recently. If you ever want to study with me, just let me know!

When I put the word 兴高采烈 in an online translator I got xīnggāocǎiliè.
The remainder of your explanation is quite clear, but the first time you wrote xìnggāocǎiliè not xīnggāocǎiliè.
Thanks
