If I say "gen wode jia ren yiqi" -- this means "with my family"
What if I just said "gen wode jia ren" -- does this have the same meaning? Is it grammatically inferior to the above?

I am wondering if anyone knows how to pronounce Milk in Chinese. I've seen what the characters look like, but that looks like gibberish to me as I can't speak an ounce of Chinese.

I’m going to be a sophomore in high school next year. I’m almost fluent in German and my mother language is English. I’m thinking about French or Spanish, but I don't want to do Japanese, Latin or Chinese? Which would be more useful and which may be easier for me to learn.

I'm learning Chinese from a Singaporean (who is of the age where hanyu pinyin was not taught in school). And I'm confused about "sh" and "x". It doesn’t seem that the pinyin is consistent with how it sounds.
Lets go into examples ... '
xie xie - is - shie shie, but gao xing(happy) - is - gao sing,
shou(hand) can either be so or sho?
shenti(body) should sound like senti, does this mean shenme sounds like senma? Because shi(it/to be) is definitely sounding like sh.
Any clarification on why "sh" and "x" can both be either closer to S or SH english sounds depending on word would be great!
Maybe you can go to have a look.

Hi, I have recently started learning Chinese, and while I find the characters and writing it very simple, the Chinese tones are quite difficult for me, which is odd because I am a musician so I am supposed to have some sort of an advantage. I think I am saying the Chinese tones correctly it's just that whenever I listen to the Chinese tones being said I always confuse the 4 falling tone for the 1 or 2 tone but never Viceversa. Is it just something that comes with time...?

Next year, when I start high school, I'm going to start taking Mandarin Chinese classes. However, I found out yesterday that I would most likely have Spanish classes for one of my classes in school for two semesters. It's quite obvious that they're as similar to each other as an ice cube is to a piece of hot iron, but I'm still a little worried that I'll get confused; people always told me never to try and learn two languages at once. How could I keep them separate?
