Yes, I meant "exercise"....it was a typo.

I want to write some documents in Chinese pinyin (not Chinese characters), but it's hard to find good fonts for it. The one I use looks rubbish; I want a clean font for Chinese pinyin that shows the tones. A choice of fonts would be even better. Are there any programs out there for me?
Thanks

In the sentence for example "ji ge xiaoshi" -- how many hours? Or "Ni jia li you jige erzi" -- how many sons does your family have? Why do we use "ji" with the measure word "ge"? What is the rule?

I love Cultures and I am fluent in Spanish and English.
I am a college Freshmen majoring in Public Relations
I recently became interested in Chinese but I've heard that its really not necessary because the Chinese already know English. I am wondering If I should even bother getting a minor in it. Is it worth it? Will I use it? Will it give me an edge over my competitors?

Okay to keep a long story short I had learned Chinese for 7 years from a Taiwanese teacher. He taught me Mandarin and used traditional characters. Then my parents didn't have any money for more lessons because I had to go to college and well it's expensive.
Anyway, I've been self learning mainly from the internet and it was very difficult with almost everything in simplified so I stuck with traditional ones first but there wasn't much material. I soon found a lot of Chinese dramas and movies to watch, and even the Taiwanese ones had subs in simplified Chinese. I can't understand everything just by listening, especially with so many words with the same pronunciation and the audio quality isn't the best. Oh and Hong Kong ones normally had traditional subs but the audio was in Cantonese - which I never learned - so those only helped me read Chinese but didn't help at all with my listening. Well it's been 5 years since and I'm still having trouble with the simplified and haven't yet fully got a hang of it yet. Besides I read simplified slower than I would read traditional.
Is there anything that I can do so I can read simplified at ease just like traditional? I don't get why it's so hard.

I know that I wrote it in Japanese. It is just to save me the trouble of looking up the pinyin. I know the characters (hanzi) from Japanese. But, I learned another method of transliterating Chinese (not pinyin)
Oh now I am more confused than I was before. I did an exercise and the person who graded it worte 不錯 on it.

I live in Taiwan.
I've mastered more or less the top 900 Chinese characters.
I'm able to read between 85% and 90% of the Chinese characters in the newspaper, but with street signs, I'd say I'm only at 60%.
Why are street signs so much harder?
