The most difficult aspect in learning Chinese is remembering the Chinese characters. I spend ten hours each week to listen to the tapes, read the notes and practice writing the characters. The skill I enjoy the most about learning Chinese is when I say the tones right.

I was listening to Chinese language podcasts on iTunes and I noticed that the words sound similar to the Taiwanese dramas like "Devil Beside You" and "Why Why Love" Are the languages really Mandarin Chinese or are they different but sound similar?
