okay, i will give you 3 examples to make it clear: 1) zi cong er ling ling ling (year 2000) nian, ..... = since year 2000 er ling ling ling nian yi lai , .... = since year 2000 zi cong er ling ling ling yi lai = since year 2000 which one is correct from above? 2) zi cong wo ren shi ta, ... = since i know him, ..... wo ren shi ta yi lai, .... = since i know him,...... zi cong wo ren shi ta yi lai, .... = since i know him,.... which one is correct?? 3) how to say "since 3 years ago" ??? zi cong san nian yi lai?? san nian yi lai? zi cong san nian? please help me jennifer. thank you so much for your help.

Really need help! I'm in China now and very close to graduating..So now I'm writing me thesis, it's about the books for beginners studying Chinese. If somebody used before New Practical Chinese reader book 1 or the book that is called 汉语教程 also the first one, please respond and tell me what do you think about these two books...would be very helpful if you can include where you are from, how long have you been studying Chinese and if you were studying in china, which university and which book you used!! In simplified: 两年前的夏天 The whole sentence reads: "两年前的夏天, 我在德国学习了德语." I am still studying German, so the 学习了 should be a continuing action. 谢谢你! :)
