It seems a lot of people are emphasizing how important it is to learn Mandarin Chinese, although the importance of it seems exaggerated. I understand the economics and business part, but other languages are important for that also, although perhaps not as much. Another thing is the number of speakers worldwide, I understand that TONS of people speak Mandarin Chinese, but most of them are concentrated in China. Why is this?

I have already begun taking Spanish (in college) and have signed up to enter Spanish II. I love spanish, but I also want to get the basics of Chinese. I already know basic spanish from high school, but I'm definitely not fluent.
My major in International Business (with finance or marketing, I havent decided yet)
Would it be okay to just take 2 years of spanish and 2 years of Chinese? Or would future employers be discouraged that I didnt take 4 years of the same language.
I really want to take both. I know for sure that I can keep my GPA up with Spanish because I tend to catch on quickly with it, but Chinese is going to be so much harder.
Any advice?

My house is very big. I have 12 rooms in my house. 5 people live in my house they are: father, mother, older brother, younger sister and myself. My room is not big but it isnt small either. In my room i have a bed, a desk and window. My room isnt colourful. It is empty and a boring. My dog lives in my room.
Out side my house is a street, on the other side there is my back yard which is very small. There arnt any trees in my back yard. My car is usually parked in my garage but is also parked outside sometimes. I live in a western style house.
Other rooms that my house has are: laundry, 4 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 1 kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and 3 toilets. My laundry has a washing machine. This room is very small. My house has 2 refrigerators. And there is a phone in every-room in my house except for bathrooms.

Today in school was the course selection sheets for next year. I'm in 10th grade and I can't decide if I want to take Spanish 3 (I had Spanish 1 and currently in Spanish 2), or to learn Chinese 1. I always wanted to take Chinese ever since I don't even know. I never really wanted to take Spanish, my mom made me. I really don't want to waste Spanish because I got all A's in Spanish and I am very good at it. But I know I can take Chinese courses in college, but I want to learn Chinese now. I am so undecided that I will leave it up to the person who convinces me the most to change my future (future, Spanish hehe ;).

I've been looking for language courses (Mandarin) around NW11. I'm doing A levels so I cant really afford anything expensive and I can’t seem to find any close by. There's some running at my own college but it clashes with something else that I do so I probably won't be able to attend. I'm also a beginner. I have searched on the internet but, as aforementioned, couldn't really find anything of use. Could anyone recommend a good place to learn Chinese from scratch? Thanks... ..)

I know that in Chinese verbs are not conjugated, so I just need the verb. List as many as you know and their English translation.
